We are happy to take all kinds of
MATERIALS
* fabrics should be at least 1/2 yard (except quilters fat-quarters, they are smaller), clean with no stains or smells (perfume, pets, smoke, mustiness, moth-balls, etc)
* yarns at least 50g, clean, untangled, with no stains or smells
* threads, buttons, ribbons, zippers, etc
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT
* sewing machines or sergers in working condition
* knitting needles and crochet hooks
* looms, irons, etc. in working condition
* scissors, pins, rulers, etc
* needlepoint kits and supplies
* pattern paper (sheets), sewing and craft paper (rolls)
BOOKS & PATTERNS
* instruction books
* sewing patterns
* instruction magazines
Things we do NOT take are:
* finished garments
* partly finished projects
* equipment in non-working conditions
* fabric scraps
* draperies, carpets, bedding sheets, blankets, mattress pads, etc
As soon as you have a donation ready to go, please contact us to arrange a good drop-off or pick-up time. We try to be very flexible to help you support our cause!

Either for your material, tools and equipment donation, or your financial contributions - you'll get a tax-deductible receipt!
1. If you are looking for a new hobby, instructions, patterns, or a little encouragement - please come in and we'll help you start your new hobby!
2. If you want to learn knitting, crocheting, sewing, etc. but you don't have the means to buy all new materials, please come in and we'll help you with materials, tools and equipment!
3. If you are environmentally conscious and sustainability is your middle name - please come in and help re-using, re-cycling, and re-purposing previously owned materials, so it doesn't end up in a landfill!

A mechanical sewing machine is operated by a foot pedal and has manual dials and knobs to adjust the stitch type, length, and width. A computerized sewing machine is operated by a touch screen and has automatic stitch settings and other advanced features.
Some common types of stitches include straight stitch, zigzag stitch, buttonhole stitch, and overlock stitch.
